Animal Planet’s The Last Alaskans remains in the land of the living, but is moving to Discovery Channel for Season 2, per THR:
The Animal Planet series, which was renewed by the network for a second season last summer, is now set to premiere April 12 on sibling channel Discovery. Eight new episodes of season two will air at 10 p.m. Tuesdays following Deadliest Catch.
It’s unclear what has prompted the change of network, but it’s possible that bosses believe Last Alaskans will be a better fit for Discovery Channel than Animal Planet.
However, network switches of this nature always alert the Cancellation Reaper, and it will be interesting to see whether the Last Alaskans goes from strength to strength and survives for Season 3, or winds up in Discovery’s cancellation graveyard. Stay tuned…

The Last Alaskans is one of the best shows on TV. its family based, hard working people are all examples for young and old. hope it is renewed. I want to see Edna with her grandson.
