The Game Cancelled – Why BBC Spy Drama Was Axed

The Game has been cancelled after one season – and now the BBC has offered an official reason for the decision not to take the series into Season 2.

In a statement, a BBC spokesperson blamed budgetary constraints for the show’s cancellation:

“We are incredibly proud of the drama written by Toby Whithouse and grateful to the cast and team who worked so hard on it – however the BBC Two drama budget only allows for a limited number of returning dramas a year which means we have to make hard choices.”
