BBC Two has officially cancelled period spy thriller The Game after one ratings-challenged season, series creator Toby Whithouse has announced.
The Game completed its first and only season on BBC America in the US and BBC Two in the UK.
A “disappointed” Whithouse confirmed that there wont be a second season of The Game, via Twitter:
Sad to confirm that there’ll be no 2nd series of The Game. Very disappointing. But we were overwhelmed by the wonderful response. Thank you.
And I have to say thank you to the extraordinary cast and crew. They were all stunning, it was an honour and a joy to work with them.
Thank you for all the lovely messages about The Game. It really means a lot to me and everyone involved in the show. x”
