NBC has renewed freshman drama Taken for Season 2, to premiere during the 2017-18 season, RenewCancelTV has learned.
The second season of the action drama will be a supersized 16 episodes (up from the first season’s order of 10) and undergo a creative retooling with the departure of showrunner Alex Cary, who is being replaced.
From Executive Producer Luc Besson, Taken is a modern-day, edge-of-your-seat thriller that follows the origin story of younger, hungrier, former Green Beret Bryan Mills as he deals with a personal tragedy that shatters his world. As he fights to overcome the incident and exact revenge, Mills is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.
