UP has cancelled Heartland after eight seasons.
The network has decided not to pick up the ninth season of the Canadian family drama.
The network confirmed via statement:
Thanks for your recent feedback about “Heartland” and for being such loyal fans. “Heartland” was a wonderful series for UP and we were pleased to carry it for eight seasons. We invite you to watch UP’s new original series, “Ties That Bind” and “Bringing Up Bates.” These new shows are consistent with UP’s commitment to provide entertaining, family-oriented programming featuring characters with character. While we understand that these will not replace “Heartland,” we are confident that you will find these series to be entertaining, engaging and fun for the entire family. UP will also be adding more popular fan favorites and family series to the lineup in the near future.
Heartland is currently airing its ninth season in Canada on CBC. No official decision yet on Season 10 – stay tuned…
