Happy Valley Season 3 will be the last in the series, according to Sarah Lancashire.
Speaking to The Sun, the star, who will return for the crime drama’s delayed third season, says it will provide the show with a “very final ending”:
“I thought we’d already had the end but [series creator] Sally [Wainwright] feels there is a very final ending needed for the show and for Catherine. There’s going to be a very big full-stop to the piece.”
Further ruling out Happy Valley Season 4, she added:
“Sally has told us she wants to write another series, which will be the final one. We don’t know when it will happen.”
The third and final season of Happy Valley is slated to premiere in 2018.
RIP.
Will Happy Valley change course and ultimately continue for Season 5, or will it indeed end after four seasons as currently planned? Stay tuned…

This show is excellent!! Has won all sorts of awards. Going to miss it. Sarah Lancashire is one of my favorites..love her in Last Tango in Halifax as well!
We at least can look forward to another show soon, written by Sally Wainwright called Ann Lister (look her up) a wealyhy Yorkshire woman born in the 1800’s who was openly living as a lesbian as well as a landowner, mountaineer and traveler. She kept a diary which she wrote in code that was deciphered in the1980’s.
