Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 has been cancelled this summer following allegations of sexual misconduct, but will the series be terminated forever?
Media valuation expert Larry Gerbrandt tells THR that the show’s future will hinge on advertisers:
“The real question is if the advertisers will stay with the show and how much financial damage has been done. If advertisers stay with the show, then it goes back on the air; but if they turn away in disgust, then you have real problems. The knee-jerk reaction is to pull out [of buying air time on the series] because that’s the safest course of action — that’s what killed Bill O’Reilly’s show; it wasn’t ratings, it was advertisers dropping out.”
Will Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 return next summer? Will the show spinoff into a different series? Or will the cancellation prove terminal? Stay tuned…
