Will Season 2 cancelled? The TNT drama faces a struggle to avoid cancellation, network president Kevin Reilly has admitted.
Speaking to Deadline, Reilly noted that while Will is “performing better than most dramas on television,” the expensive nature of the series could be a huge stumbling block towards the all-important Season 2 renewal:
Reilly acknowledged that costume drama Will is an expensive show, significantly more expensive to produce than most TBS series, like Search Party. “I don’t know where we go from here, whether we’re going to complete the order,” he said, referring to a potential second-season order.
While a renewal decision on the drama series is still up in the air, “I’m proud of the show creatively, they’ve done some great work,” Reilly said.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancel/renew status of Will Season 2…

Gave this show a chance. Too boring & too queer & unreal.

This is a fantastically mature, well-written (it should be, it’s about Shakespeare), superbly acted show with top notch sets and costumes. Unfortunately the quality-challenged 18-49 demographic isn’t going to watch it – all they want are reality shows and super heroes. Didn’t TNT know the show’s viewers would come from an older demographic from the get-go? Well guess what, we have money to spend too! Now TNT will cancel it and claim it’s too expensive to produce than their other shows. I would watch this show every night of the week but I can see which way the wind is blowing; this will be a heartbreaking cancellation for those of us who appreciate quality programming. For God’s sake, sell it to Netflix, Hulu, PBS – just keep it airing!

If there is a season 2, how about some historical accuracy when it comes to the lives of the characters.
