The Good Wife could extend into Season 8, co-creator Robert King has confirmed.
Addressing the future of the legal drama in a chat with TVLine, King confirms that creatively he sees the show as a seven-season series.
However, that might not stop CBS from extending The Good Wife beyond its intended creative lifespan into Season 8:
“It’s a big question mark, because it’s a question that’s beyond us. It’s… CBS. [Viewers can probably sense that] we’re counting down [via the episode titles. [But] that doesn’t mean an end is an end.”
CBS is expected to renew The Good Wife for Season 7 in the coming weeks. Whether that will be the last in the series, as King notes, remains an open question.
