FX and the BBC have secretly renewed Taboo for Season 2, to premiere early 2018.
Asked whether the show would return for a second season, star Tom Hardy told EW, “Oh god, yeah,” while creator Steven Knight assured, “all will be well.”
As for what Taboo Season 2 will hold, Knight teased:
“I think we don’t talk about that [Laughs]. In my mind, explosive stuff is going to happen, which will be great, should it happen. There’s a great destination for it, but I don’t know if we’re in a position to talk about the actual details of it.”
Added Hardy:
“We’re onto the next stage. The key really is Colonnade. When he says, “We are Americans,” James is very ambiguous with how much information he’s going to give. In his mind, you will know when the time is right.”
An official renewal announcement from FX/BBC is expected in the coming days.
Stay tuned as we now monitor the renew/cancel status of Taboo Season 3…

The make up of the actors is gritty and dirty. The story is also dirty and gritty. Ecstatic that it has been renewed. I am a captive of this enthralling production. Were I a raven, I would fly into this series and perch at every scene.
