Not only is Supernatural chasing a 14th season in 2017-18, the CW is series is set to spawn another spinoff series that might one day replace it. Deadline has the details:
It’s the ladies’ turn in the Supernatural franchise. I have learned that the CW’s long-running drama series, about the adventures of the Winchester brothers, is prepping a new spinoff, Wayward Sisters, starring the original series’ standout Kim Rhodes.
The project — which is being developed as a planted spinoff and will have a backdoor pilot airing as an episode of Supernatural‘s upcoming 13th season — tells the story of Sheriff Jody Mills (Rhodes) and a group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy.
Would you watch Wayward Sisters? Do you see it eventually replacing Supernatural, despite the mothership’s apparent carte blanche at the network? Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the survival status of both Supernatural and the potential Wayward Sisters TV show…

I don’t know if I can watch it without Sam and Dean my hero’s! No way!

I don’t know if it would work as an intire series, as much as i love Sheriff Mills (Kim Rhoads). She has kind of done that for a few episodes with Claire and the girl she saved from the vampires. But i would allways be up for more Sheriff Mills.
Kay B. says
I doubt that I would watch that spinoff, especially in place of Supernatural. I like the role of Sheriff Mills as a character but not as a whole show.
Debbie Patterson says
Agreed
Jeannette says
What the heck is this Wayward Sisters, what is it about???
That being said their is no replacing Supernatural and theirs definitely no
replacing Dean & Sam! or Castel!
I’ll be sad when the Supernatural series ends and doubt I’ll be watching it’s replacement.
That’s it that’s all.
Kevin Menscer says
I love supernatural and i would watch it to see what if was about but you have to love sam and dean
Debbie says
No Sam or Dean…don’t know how long it will last.

Personally, the Winchester Brothers are what make me love the show, but I would probably still watch the spinoff to give it a chance. I would also hate to lose seeing Castiel, since they never even considered how Dean is the one who bonded with him when he was told since he was a baby that angels were watching over him It’s the bond they have as brothers, their love for family & friends that I’ve watched & rewatched for past 12 seasons. I don’t think Supernatural could ever be replaced. I think it will be mourned when it ends…

I can’t see Kim Bhodes carrying an entire series. She’s good in episodes; but I don’t like some of the long-time episodes, the ones where she’s taken in Alex and Claire — that’s too far for me. Winchester’s are my guys.

Re: your questions:
“Would you watch Wayward Sisters”? No. “Do you see Wayward Sisters replacing Supernatural”? No.
Any other questions?
Kay says
No Sam, no Dean, no Castile, no way! I do like the character of Jody Mills and wouldn’t mind seeing her in more episodes, but not outside of the Supernatural ” framework. (I’d like to see Charlie again, too – she was a strong female character who was written off too soon.). If the intent is to add a new show to the “Supernatural ” offering, fine, but if they’re thinking of canceling “Supernatural ” and replacing it with this new show, FORGET ABOUT IT!

i would definately give it a go! if you love supernatural why wouldnt you? i look at it as an extension of a show i already love, it wont be supernatural, nothing can replace the eye candy that is dean and sam 😉 but i also loved the original monster of the week episodes of supernatural so if wayward sisters follows along those lines, im in!. have never understood why people go completely against a new show that was birthed from a show they love, at least give it a shot, supernatural cant go on forever and i would say is ending its reign, maybe this can fill a small void when it has gone, could be worse, supernatural could always be replaced with yet another crappy reality show!
Sheila says
If Supernatural has run its course, then why replace it with the same show different characters. Let it RIP.
jennifer says
Please leave dean & Sam!! They’re what makes the show. I wouldn’t want to watch the others through the whole show if replaced. The brothers is what makes the show! —-add-on: they are so fine! Lol please leave them. I watch reruns every morning. Would love to see them keep going. Great show! Great people ! Great love for family ,friends and people in general. <3
Michaela McDonald says
Wayward Sisters??? No… just no. Sam and Dean are the main reason many people watch it. They’re great on and off camera, they have families that are adorable, and they’re just… well they’re Sam and Dean Jared and Jensen. The two are the same on and off camera, and I don’t think another pair of people(men or women) could ever replace them. Not to mention, where are the “sisters” coming from?
Then again, why not just do the norm, and put the sisters in as new main characters like they did with Cas and Crowley and Abbadon and God(etc.)
Brenda says
As much as a lot of Supernatural fans would love for Sam and Dean to continue to save people and hunt things into TV oblivion that’s just not realistic. The show will eventually end.I don’t know that Wayward Sisters will necessarily take it’s place (it’s going to have to sink or swim on it’s own merit). But I am willing to give it a chance and see how it plays out.If the show is well written then it may develop a fan base and do well.Time will tell.

I loved Sherriff Mills in Supernatural! Nothing will ever replace Supernatural though so no, I would probably just check out the pilot and be done.
