NBC has cancelled Powerless after one season, we can confirm. Per sources, the network has opted not to continue the superhero comedy-drama into Season 2.
Powerless to cancellation in the wake of poor ratings, the series has been wiped from the schedule in place of Superstore repeats with immediate effect. See the new schedule below:

Hudgens killed this.. she’s not a very likable sitcom cast member. She has a voice that seems inherently condescending. (I’m sure she’s a wonderful person, it’s just that odd voice inflection)

It had the potential to be very interesting, but then it turned into yet another dumb office “comedy.” Opportunity squandered…

Come on NBC. If this got cut to make way for a smart Tina Fey show, well that would be OK. If you’re only allowed to have one quirky off-beat comedy and it was this or “The Good Place”, well then fork yeah, I’d choose “The Good Place”(btw thank you for not cancelling “The Good Place”). But if you are just planning another Chicago Public Service franchise (Chicago MTA, Chicago Library, Chicago Garbage), just spare us. Those are great for whoever their audience is but you’ve got plenty of those. Some of us just like a fun tv show to take our minds off of the gritty crime/medical/lawyer drama that our world has become. A lot of people like me are at the point where we say “Oh that looks like a good show but I’m not watching it because it’s on NBC and I don’t want to get invested.” That kind of reputation can’t be good for your business can it?
Would you maybe reconsider cancelling “Powerless” if we changed the name to “Chicago Hero Office: Hosted by Steve Harvey and Carson Daily”?
…btw I was mocking the Chicago show formula but I would totally watch “Chicago Garbage” It could be about city sanitation workers and how they solve crimes with the discarded evidence from all of the other shows. Tagline “They always pick up the garbage, but some times they take out the trash” It could be a comedy… starring Venessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, and Danny Pudi, and maybe Ron Funches, Christina Kirk and Jennie Pierson, you know, just off the top of my head… Oooh and instead of trash men it could be about a company that makes superhero stuff. Just an idea.
