Perception stars Eric McCormack and Rachael Leigh Cook and have confirmed that the show’s third season finale ends on a cliffhanger designed to set up a potential fourth season.
While TNT has yet to officially renew Perception for Season 4, Cook explains that the departure of TNT president and programming head Michael Wright has delayed a final decision on the show’s future, per Digital Spy:
“There’s been a recent shake-up in the brass. I think it’s going to take a longer time than it normally would for us to find out [if the show’s been renewed].”
Stressing the importance of renewal, McCormack reveals that the cliffhanger end to Perception Season 3 will leave fans unsatisfied if it doesn’t lead to a fourth season:
“We certainly don’t end season three in a way that is going to be satisfying for the fans, so we’re sure hoping!”

Will be a shame if the show is not renewed. It is a Great Show with superb insights into the human psyche. Clean acting and good teleplay make it an addictive series. I would definitely be waiting for the 4th season.

It’s not been renewed its been cancelled but the ABC network may try to find another home for the series so there is still some hope 🙂

I want to thank actor Eric McCormack and the whole cast and crew of the “Perception” TV show for this show. Please, do NOT cancel this show!!! I think this TV show is both entertaining, and it shows how people with serious mental illness can give to society, if only given a chance. I have “Schizoaffective Disorder, Depressive Type”, and this is very close to the “Schizophrenia” that Dr. Daniel Pierce has. I think it is important for people with serious mental illness to be protrayed in a good way, after so many years of being seen as faceless villians. Also the scipts are well written and very good! This is such an informative, entertaing and fascinating show, I really enjoyed the fact that there was finally information that was given to the public that had been researched on mental illness and neurology. Why are they taking the one “intelligent” show left on t.v. Off the air I will never stop wondering why. Eric McCormack was superb in this roll of Dr. Daniel Pierce, and made him a truly believable person with actually true behaviorism of a person suffering mental illness. Thank you Eric McCormack, for supporting and educating about mental illness.
