Sky Living is heading to the Deep South as it acquires the fourth instalment of ABC’s ground-breaking US drama series Nashville, produced by Lionsgate, ABC Studios and Gaylord Entertainment. Series four of critically acclaimed Nashville, with its well-loved country music stars and their southern drama top of the bill, will headline for the first time on Sky Living.
Created by Callie Khouri, Nashville stars Golden Globe® award nominated actresses, Connie Britton (24, The West Wing) as legendary country music superstar Rayna James, and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) as thriving younger star Juliette Barnes. Series four also sees various special musical guest appearances.
The acquisition of Nashville further demonstrates to its customers that Sky Living is the number one place to get lost in great drama. Sky Living is already home to an enviable list of some of the most-loved US network hits, including Scandal, Elementary, The Blacklist, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds and Bones, and most recently the UK premiere of Blindspot. Blindspot consolidated from 384K to 1.192m, making it the best launch of a brand new US drama on Sky Living ever. Also coming soon to Sky Living is the new show from Shonda Rhimes, The Catch.
Customers will be able to catch up on previous seasons of ground-breaking US drama Nashville on Sky Box Sets and NOW TV ahead of the 4th installment landing on Sky Living this summer.
Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky 1 and Sky Living, says: “We are delighted to offer our viewers such an entertaining and captivating drama series as Nashville. With this exciting debut, Sky Living is giving its customers even more of the addictive storylines and strong, confident characters they love to watch.”
“Music City” can mean so many things to different people. In Nashville, musicians and songwriters are at the heart of the storms driven by their own ambitions. Some are fueled by their creativity and passion for fame, others struggle to cope with the pressures of success and doing everything in their power to stay on top. Set within the city’s burgeoning music scene, Nashville follows the lives of legendary country music icon (and new record label owner) Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton), breakout pop starlet Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), and a community of diverse musicians, songwriters, and industry players including popular characters Deacon (Chip Esten), Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson), Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar Scott (Sam Palladio).
Nashville is executive produced by Callie Khouri, Steve Buchanan and Dee Johnson, and is distributed worldwide by Lionsgate.
