This show truly is a “subtle masterpiece”. It’s one of the few 30 minute shows I’ve seen that actually requires the viewer to engage and pay attention to the show in order to understand and “get” the nuances within various interactions. It’s life with a great outlook in spite of the inherent troubles life brings…. as opposed to over-the-top, implausible scenarios riddled with slapstick humor or in-your-face comic attempts. Such a refreshing take on a 30 minute light drama/comedy. There can only be bright, talented people behind this show. And the cast is doing a wonderful job. I’m glad it’s been renewed.

Brilliant! Let’s hope that this will give a boost to the hopes of some awards at the end of the year. Lisa McGrilis as Kelly is an absolute joy capturing all the gaucheness and vulnerability without descending into pathos or mockery. Oh, and a little nod to the music director for choposing Lulu and the Lampshades’ original version of the Cup Song as the theme over the rather more anodyne version from Pitch Perfect!
