More than a decade after its cancellation, Food Network has revived Molto Mario for Season 11, to premiere in 2018, Variety reports:
“Molto Mario,” the cooking program that first aired in 1997, will premiere six new episodes that will feature the chef preparing meals with friends and celebrity guests. The show has not produced new episodes since 2005, although Batali continued to appear on the network’s “Iron Chef” programs until 2010. He also made a visit to Michael Symon’s “Burgers, Brews, and ‘Que” in 2015.
“Mario Batali has long been one of the most approachable and engaging chefs for audiences to enjoy and learn from, masterfully sharing his delicious recipes and stories,” said Allison Page, general manager of U.S. programming and development for Scripps Networks Interactive. “What could be better than starting a new year with new episodes of an all-time classic like ‘Molto Mario.’ We are excited to have Mario back home at Food Network.”
Production has already wrapped on the six-episode new season, with an exact premiere date pending.
