The friendzone has not been kind to this drama.
CBS has cancelled God Friended Me after just two seasons. The series finale will be a two-hour event on April 26, 8:00-10 PM.
CBS had the following to say about the news:
“We’re extremely proud of the unique concept and uplifting stories God Friended Me has told over the past two seasons. We thank the brilliant cast, writers, production team and crew for a show that stirred thoughtful conversation about faith, life and happiness, and made viewers feel good at the end of each episode. The creative team behind the show has one last “friend suggestion” in mind, as well as an ending we hope brings a satisfying conclusion to Miles’ journey in search of the God Account.”
RIP.

Such sad news in the middle of this crisis….. This was one of the best shows of the last two seasons… a Feel good.. uplifting show… good message, good acting.. we need more shows like this…just good stories…. reminds of Quantaum Leap type show… just a good story each week… very sad to see it go
Pat says
I am shocked! I love this show! This is one of the few I look forward to watching each week. Like others have stated, we need these type of shows. Especially now more than ever. I was so hoping for several for seasons.

What a lousy way to treat a great show! Way to go CBS, just time to fill the spot with another show about more killing!
Coss says
Isn’t it typical? They come up with a good show, and when they find out people like it, they cancel it. It’s almost like “you weren’t supposed to like it, what’s wrong with you” and so they cancel it. They’ll find some kind of garbage show to put on in it’s place. Sunday is where they put shows to die, and then watch for reaction, if it’s good they cancel it, if it’s bad they leave it alone. Hate to say it, but there is no logic to why they do what they do.
Susan Pinney says
Great show, so sorry to see it cancelled.
EMae says
Shame on you. This is one of the best shows on TV right now!!

I really don’t understand why CBS is cancelling such an uplifting and well-acted show. This is one show I look forward to watching every week and I have several friends who like the show as much as I do.
The previous comment from Pat above hit the nail on the head. We need these feel good shows with the current pandemic. I guess I will never understand the thinking behind what shows should be added or removed on network TV…

Netflix… Are you paying attention
Claudia Frank says
I agree!!! Love this show! Perfect cast, writing, just a really feel good show!
BarbM says
They seem to remove the things that are half way decent (and respectable) to replace it with smut or stupid shows that are a mind set for under 10 year olds.
No sex, no cussing, no violence, no genuine reason to dump it, other than they want more trash to feed to the population.
K Bergeron says
So disappointed to hear this. Great job guys. Now you can put on more garbage reality tv.
Riv says
what the heck CBS,,,, this is a wonderful show. Gee, were the ratings not high enough of ppl watching it?
I just watched last Sun’s episode & was wondering & hoping it would get a season 3 & then I get this news in my email…. grrrrrrrrrrrrr not happy 🙁
Do you CBS ever read these comments??????
Kathy Montalvo says
I will miss this unique and uplifting show! One of the few I look forward to !
Joseph Bruzzese says
Yes, anything good, wholesome and faith based always comes to an undignified end…So sad for CBS to do this…I guess I will have to find another network with better programs…
Linda Walsh says
I am Extremely disappointed that CBS cancelled God Friended Me.
It is a freshly uplifting show. What? CBS is going to put some raunchy, violent
Show in its place? What else is new?
Paul says
A great show, so uplifting and a great feel good family show, not enough bad language or sexual scenes for the producers I gather …such a shame this has to go …so we are left with garbage TV with all the violence and foul mouth dialog.
Yvonne says
I feel exactly like all of you…I looked forward every Sunday to watching this show. These network people don’t have a clue what’s good…I’m really bummed out…
BarbM says
Typical of CBS crap, never complete a series and leave everything up in the air.
Going to be more particular what I watch, any broadcaster who has killed more series than it leaves running is done and dusted with me, not going to even start watching something that will never finalise and tie up loose ends.
Gayle Hodge says
I was so sad to see God Friended Me being cancelled. In these times it was a very calming show and loved all the different lives it impacted…I will say at least, for a change, CBS gave it an ending and didn’t leave the viewers hanging like they usually do. Would really like to see this come back…
Eric Curtin says
It is disappointing to see such a well rounded show. It seems they give you enough time to get hooked and they cancel it. It didn’t help with the time slot that it was in. I hope someone else picks it up.
Bob N says
What a Shame, probably because GOD was the main theme had to get it off the air….! A show that reminds you too help your fellow man, especially during this COVID world changing event…!
Vinda Fletcher says
This was my Sunday night go to show. Was truly hoping for a 3rd season. If at all possible I would love to see it picked up by a new network.
You didn’t have worry about people jumping in an out of bed on God Friended Me. This show was realistic and family friendly. Please bring it back if not now; if not now In the 20/21 season.
