The Exorcist has more than a foot in FOX’s cancellation graveyard, but the network is refusing to give up possession of Season 2, at least in public.
Looking for the positives of a likely doomed drama, FOX exec David Madden noted Season 2 talks are ongoing, with a final decision on the show’s future pushed until May, per Deadline:
“We are having conversions with producers about what we can do in second season. But like with Pitch, we can’ t make a decision yet.”
Is ‘May’ the new cancelled, or does the horror series really stand a chance against the cancellation reaper? Stay tuned…

I really enjoy this show. There are so many plots to develop with Father Marcus and Father Toma’s. There is a story with the demon and Angela’s family. There is a story about Father Marcus teaching Toma’s. There could be flashbacks on Father Marcus’ training and early exorcisms and more detail on why he lost his faith. They could be called in for another set of characters with a possession. Then there could be a discovery at the Vatican Observatory that could lead them to prevent the coning of the anti-Christ. So much material. It would be a shame to waste it.

“The Exorcist” is an awesome show. There were so many twists and all of the actors were great! I truly hope FOX gives this show a 2nd chance! And needs to be moved from Friday nights. That would also help the ratings.
