May 16, 2016 – Code Black renewed for 2nd season.

February 24, 2016 – Code Black concludes its first season with Season 2 renewal uncertain.

January 13, 2016 – Code Black Season 1 winter premiere.

December 9, 2015 – Code Black Season 1 fall finale.

November 20, 2015 – CBS gives a Back 5 episode order to Code Black, bringing the first season order up to 18 episodes but, maybe critically, short of the golden 22-episode quota that would have been a real show of confidence.

October 23, 2015 – CBS orders six back-up scripts for Code Black.

October 5, 2015 – The series premiere of Code Black grows 53% in the coveted 18-49 demo after three days of playback:

Code Black premiered September 30, 2015.

Series Description: Code Black is a heart-pounding medical drama that takes place in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation, where the staggering influx of patients can outweigh the limited resources available to the extraordinary doctors and nurses whose job is to treat them all—creating a condition known as Code Black.

At the heart of the ER’s controlled chaos is Residency Director Dr. Leanne Rorish, renowned for successfully performing high-risk procedures in Center Stage, the trauma area reserved for the most critical cases. Her four new first-year residents are Christa Lorenson, Malaya Pineda, Mario Savetti and Angus Leighton. Leanne’s confidante, Jesse Sallander, is an amiable seen-it-all senior nurse who manages the residents.

Also working in the ER is Dr. Neal Hudson, an excellent physician who sometimes disagrees with Leanne’s “cowboy” approach, and Dr. Rollie Guthrie, the energetic, longest-serving attending. In Center Stage, life is measured in seconds, and these heroic doctors and nurses operate with speed and skill within an overwhelmed system to treat the crowds of people who are often there for one of two reasons: to die or to receive a life-saving miracle.     I for one (one of many It seems) will be very disappointed if Code Black is not renewed. I look forward to it each week and always make sure to have a box of tissues nearby. It is an awesome show that really tugs at your heartstrings.

    Please renew Code Black!!!! Absolutely love this show and look forward to what the writers of this show comes up with. This show is soooooo good and we love it! The time slot is the only thing that is hurting this show. The acting, story lines, and the writing is awesome. Please don’t give up on this show!

    I have cried every episode. I pause the show to look up medical terminology because I find it so interesting. I’m a medical show junkie and I’ve followed all the big ones since St Elsewhere. This one is the most realistic, medically accurate, gritty, and suspenseful. Do no cancel such an amazing production.

    Please don’t cancel Code Black! I work a second job and I make sure I get home in time to see Code Black. This is one show my husband and myself watch together. Code Black keeps you on the edge of your seat. The other medical shows are old. Please renew Code Black.

    I would hate to see this show canceled, after 1 season….it reminds me of M*A*S*H….where you fall in love with the characters ….and you just don’t want it to, ever end!! Prime time would be a better spot for, higher ratings…..meanwhile there is always TiVo

    Please renew Code Black, it’s a great show. I watch it every week. I wished it could be a 2 hours show. The time spot might be hurting it. See if it could be moved to 8 PM time spot. It’s one of the best shows on TV. I love medical shows. Please don’t cancel.

    Please don’t cancel Code Black!!! This show is the best show on CBS. I can’t imagine it not getting great reviews. Perhaps the network needs to put it on a different night or time if that is the problem. Such a realistic show and fantastic actors.

    With Michael Weatherly leaving NCIS, the run for best show is about over. CBS will be making a serious mistake if they don’t renew Code Black. It is the best new show on TV, timeslot not withstanding. Use the DVR for Pete’s sake!! It’s 2016!!!

    Renew Code Black. People are tired of watching shows knowing that the Networks are just going to cancel them. I loved Forever of course cancelled. Don’t cancel this. I won’t invest my time on anymore new shows.

    We love this show!! The cast is wonderful. As are the storylines. Each week it gets better and better. Please pick up for a 2nd season!! I would hate to see another show get cut because of a bad time slot!!! Especially one as great as Code Black!!! It’s our favorite new show this season!!

    My wife and I just watched the last episode of Code Black. We’re exhausted and covered with blood from head to toe. But we love it! Please bring Code Black or we’ll be out of a job and suffering from withdrawal.

    Appease, please, please don’t cancel a great show like Code Black. It is certainly by far the best show this year. It is very well written, great characters & good story lines. Please stop disappointing us with cancellations of good solid shows. It is getting harder to watch new shows because once you start watching & get hooked they are cancelled. Please renew.

    Please Do Not cancel this show. It really has great chemistry between characters, and is just a really good show. So sick of “reality” shows. They are anything but reality. Shows like Code Black, bring to light the split second decisions that docs in ER are sometimes forced to make. Please renew, and make it permanent!

    If “Code Black” does not follow “Grey’s Anatomy” on focusing too much on romantic stuffs, I would vote yes to season renewal. As a “Grey’s anatomy” fan and still a “Grey’s” fan, the latter is good but having too much computer-generated miracle instead of sticking close to real thing is…..really like a high school child messing around with a scapel. No offense.

    this is one of the best shows on TV. Right in the surgery, watching how ER docs do their jobs. Love this. You haven’t even given this a chance ti catch on, This is te BEST show on. RENEW!!!!!
    Also wonder why NBC started their HEART, series. Pretty stupid.

    This show makes my heart stop!! I have to put the closed caption on so i don’t miss a word they’re saying. It’s the only hour that makes me completely forget about everything else. incredible writing, acting and producing. I need many more years of Code Black PLEASE!!!!!
