While WGN converts to an all-news network, that isn’t good news for Almost Paradise.
The recently aired crime drama will not be returning to WGN but the show’s creator, Dean Devlin, is optimistic about a second season elsewhere:
“A lot of people have been asking about season two so I want to tell everybody what’s happening with our show. Just so everyone knows we will not be back on WGN next year. WGN has decided to change into an all-news network [in primetime]. We are grateful to WGN for launching our show and for getting us up and running and giving us a place to show the show to everyone. So, thank you for that opportunity. But, we will not be back next year with WGN but that does not mean that we will not be back.”
He wasn’t able to name where the show might land but did give viewers some hope:
“I can’t name the platform yet because the ink isn’t dry on the contract but, this July, all of the original episodes will appear in a new place and that place will be for free so everyone will be able to watch it for free. And, they have sworn to me that, if we do well enough, if we perform really well in those first couple months, they will pick up season two and continue the show. We will announce at some point where that new platform is. If we do well, we will be back for season two and nothing would make me happier. I can’t imagine any show that I’ve ever worked on being more fun than this one. Again, thank you, everyone, for a wonderful season.”
So it’s hopefully not goodbye, but see you later almost paradise.

So hope that Almost Paradise finds a place on the new platform that was mentioned by creator Dean Delvin.. Though it wasn’t technically cancelled as WGN America is the ones converting into an all news network.. well in my opinion..
Christian Kane is just awesome in this show and his fans will follow it to whatever platform it finds a how at.. If all goes well.. get a Season two. Thanks for sharing

I agree with all the responses, love Christian Kane also. I was so happy to see he was back and now??? Hope it doesn’t go on a weird channel that we cannot get or a streaming one. Enjoyed the crazy stories and everyone in the show (except the police chief, his character was too far out of reality)

Oh my son’s family and mine would be very upset if this show does not come back. We watch this show and can’t wait till the following week to see the next show. We will be very unhappy if it does not come back.

I’m sure wherever it lands it will do great. I love Christian Kane! I watch everything he’s in plus I love his music! WGN has just lost a viewer. We have enough news channels, the last thing we need is another one.

Another news network? I wasn’t aware we had a shortage of them, but we do have a shortage of almost free shows which are enjoyable and made in the second decade of the 21st century.

Heck! I liked almost Paradise..It’s a bummer to read it has been cancelled.
Besides the show Carter, All Most Paradise was the second reason I was watching WGN Network

Agree!

Well another great show possibly gone. We love all the actors and the show is a lot of fun. Every show we like gets canceled or pushed to Netflix or Hulu which we don’t have nor do we want.

Its now September, I’m still checking on news about this show. I really miss it. Hope they find a home soon. I’m surprised it hasn’t already. It was a great start to my week on Monday night.

Great tv show. I love detective shows with a little comedy mixed in. I hope this will be picked up by another network. So tired of reality programs. I watch tv to avoid reality.
