ABC has supersized the current seasons of a number of its early renewal contenders in The Middle, The Goldbergs, Black-ish and Fresh Off The Boat, with talks ongoing for a Modern Family Season 7 extension, Deadline reports:
The network has ordered two more episodes each of The Middle,The Goldbergs and Black-ish, while talks for two more episodes of Modern Family are ongoing.
Additionally, there is more good news for sophomore Tuesday comedy Fresh off the Boat. The family comedy originally had been given a 13-episode Season 2 order as it debuted last midseason. On the heels of the show getting a Back 9 order for a full-season 22 episodes, FOTB‘s second season has been expanded to 24 episodes with a pickup of two extra half-hours.
The increase not only extends the current seasons of the shows in question, but bodes well for their renewal prospects too.
