Mat Baynton has confirmed the possibility of You, Me and the Apocalypse Season 2.
The comedy-drama wrapped its first season Dec. 2 on Sky1 in the UK, ahead of its 2016 US launch on NBC.
So far, the networks have yet to cancel or renew You, Me and the Apocalypse for Season 2.
However, speaking to RadioTimes.com, Baynton expressed his desire for the series to return and said it would have different energy to Season 1:
If there’s a [Season 2] it will be very different to the first. It will be about the bunker and how people get on in there or probably about the future when they emerge from that bunker. I am not saying it will be set in a bunker but let’s say it could be.
That said, if the series is cancelled, Baynton believes the show has already given fans a “sense of completion”:
“I really liked that about this series. [Writer] Iain Hollands said ‘no, we are promising the end of the world and we are going to give the audience the end of the world’. The fact that we get there is a great thing. It’s giving the audience some sense of completion. It’s so unsatisfying having an unfinished story and you have to wait 18 months to find out what happened.”

I totally agee…. You cant finish a season with a cliffhanger if you are not sure of season 2 . Very bad move against who have loved the show. Very despicable.

Brilliant series. Funny, great acting and dramatic with a storyline that twists and turns like a cobra on amphetamines. More importanly the characters have become people I care about and I never thought I would say that about a white supremacist!
Y,M&TA is in my best series list along with Edge of Darkness, Our Friends in the North and Game of Thrones.
A second series may end up to be a dissapointment but I’m pepared to take the risk.
