TNT has cancelled Will after one season. Following poor ratings, the William Shakespeare drama wont return for Season 2, RenewCancelTV has confirmed.
Will told the wild story of young William Shakespeare’s (Laurie Davidson) arrival onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London — the seductive, violent world where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows. The series is billed as a contemporary version of Shakespeare’s life, played to a modern soundtrack that exposes all his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance.
RIP.

Of course the show received low ratings and was cancelled. TNT moved it to 11 PM!!!!!! They were making sure that they could justify the cancellation. How funny it us that “Will” was one of TNT’s HIGHEST rated shows when it premiered!!

I loved this show and will miss it very much. It was original, with great acting, writing, costumes and sets. In fact, it was literally one of the most beautiful shows on the air. It was expensive to produce and it showed. Thanks to the creator, the actors and all who gave us this gift. Please know that for many of us, your work was much admired and appreciated. RIP WILL, indeed.

I binge watched all 10 episodes on my Roku player streamed by TNT and It was a great show. I love history and interesting period pieces. The sets and costumes were great. That being said is Shakespeare’s life that exciting and interesting. Versailles on BBC is a very compelling period drama with a lot going on that keeps the viewer interested.
I see Amazon has cancelled 2 of its period pieces which will make me consider how many networks I need for my entertainment. I’m so sick of all the reality shows which are cheaper to make.
