With a surprise second season coming this May, M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed plans for Wayward Pines Season 3, which would also represent the end of the series, per Slash Film:
“I think we can say it’s a three-season story. If we get the opportunity to tell the third and final season, we can finish the story.”
Looking ahead more immediately to Season 2, he said:
“We are outside the fence a little bit. This season, we learn about the Abbies so that’s the big [reveal.] I think we could say the second season is about the Abbies. It seems at the end of the first season, you have a kind of primitive understanding of what that is, what an Abby is, but that’s actually not what an Abby is.”
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the status of Wayward Pines Season 3…

Why wouldn’t there be a season 3,4 and 5 and beyond? This show has gone so far and only gets better amd better while creating so many more possibilities.
I will admit, I was skeptical of even season 2 at first after losing the star power of Matt Dillion and not replacing him for spmeone equally as well known and talented.
However, the current cast is just fine and the show has infinite possibilities for a seasom 3,4,5 and beyond.
Where would the movie series of “Planet of the Apes” be if the producers were such small thinkers and did not make as many entertaining sequels? Even better might be a comparison to the TV show “Lost” that had a nice run.
“Wayward Pines” is easily one of the top ten shows on TV amd to cancel now without expectations of a non-defined infinite number of seasons would be wasteful.
What is wrong with such low expectations of Hollyward these days and a
why do they barely advertise a super creative show like this?
They have a real winner on their hands and don’t seem to even realize it.

I totally agree with the past comments, love this show, and could go on and on I’m so tired of networks getting you hooked then just cancelling, its such a disappointment.

Why would season 3 be a final season? This is one of the best shows on TV and to cancel after even only 3 seasons would be pemature. The series has so many capabilities and is by far one of the top ten show on the tube. This is despite losing the star power of Matt Dillion. I myself did not think it could go a second season successfully without replacing him with someone as equally famous but the series has seemed to proven otself on it’s own. There should definitely be a season 3 and many more to come and there should be many more episodes per season.
Get on the ball Fox!
