Shudder, the premium genre streaming service backed by AMC Networks, has acquired North American and UK/Ireland rights to German mystery-thriller series The Valley. This is the first one-hour original production for Germany’s TNT Series and is part of a trend of non-English-language dramas making their way to Stateside and offshore screens.

The show was the first original one-hour drama for TNT Serie in Germany, as the Turner channel pushed into local production.
The deal will see the thriller carried on Shudder in North America and the U.K. “The Valley” follows events after a girl’s body is discovered and then disappears. Friedrich Muecke (“Friendship”) plays the lead.
