Showtime has covered its bases should the Twin Peaks revival crash and burn upon its May 21 release.
President David Nevins says the 18-episode return is designed to be a “close-ended one-time event,” which would close the Lodge door on a potential fourth season.
From a PR standpoint, Nevins’ statement also ‘protects’ the network from having to re-cancel the cult-favorite series in the event of it being poorly received.
