Trust premieres March 25 on FX, but the Getty family drama will run for three seasons, if the creators get their way.
Speaking to THR, exec producer Danny Boyle revealed that an initial 5-season plan has been modified into a 3-year run, which would see the show end in 2020:
“Way, way back we envisioned this as a five-season series. Then they rationalized it — and intensified it — down to three.”
Further outlining the long-term vision for Trust, creator Simon Beaufoy added:
“There’s so much to say and do about three generations of Gettys. Like, where it all started with this story of a man who came to be obsessed with money — what happened in his childhood that made him so obsessed with money?”
Are you looking forward to Trust? Hoping for a three-season run?
