CBS has cancelled Training Day after one season. On the heels of the tragic death of star Bill Paxton and sealed by poor ratings, the network has banished the series to Saturdays, in a move that spells the end of those faint Season 2 hopes.
The move to Saturdays (starting April 8) should see the series play out its remaining seven episodes before taking full residence in the cancellation graveyard.
Following two weeks of preemptions, Training Day‘s Thursday slot will be filled by The Amazing Race Season 29 on March 30, with Undercover Boss taking the latter’s Friday slot on April 28.
RIP.

So sorry to see this show end. I know since the unfortunate death of Bill Paxton. We will all miss him, but couldn’t you of put some one else in his place? Work someone else in it? No body will replace Bill though. He was the show. RIP Bill

I agree. Should save the show by bringing back the Trainee’s Dad (He’s not dead after all)

I agree with Denise and e!!

Why do the decent shows get cancelled and the crappy ones go on forever example Law & Order: Special Victims. That show is tired and same story different casts. I stopped watching it years ago.

I liked the show very much, I know with the passing of Bill Paxton it’s hard for it to keep going on but you should have found someone else to replace him. I suppose some stupid reality show will take it place!! RIP Bill!!

I agree with sadness about Bill Paxton, very sad.. I thought the show would go on as I felt it had good story lines. And the rest of the crew were very good in their roles… so I guess maybe we will have more lame sit-cons to replace it…

It was the right thing to do considering the death of Bill Paxton.

THIS IS AWFUL!!!! I love this show (it actually made me like Bill (Chet) Paxton) I really looked forward to it every week even more than Lethal Weapon. There are some very stupid shows that are still on AKA Modern Family

Can anyone tell me why all the great shows get cancelled and the awful ones go on and on and on forever, makes no sense to me, I truly love this show, great actors great storyline and I know that Bill Paxton was an exceptional great Actor and I’m truly saddened by his death, but really why can’t this show go on with another great Actor to take his place. It getting to the point where why would you want to watch TV anymore, if all they are going to do is keep canceling the great shows to leave the bad ones on. Disappointed once more from a tv network where the bottom line is all that matters, here’s a thought why don’t you ask people that watch these shows what they think before canceling another show, well anyways RIP Bill Paxton.

I think Training Day is a great show. It’s a shame CBS couldn’t find a way to continue the show without the star.
