The X-Files revival has been acquired by Canada’s Bell Media, extending the show’s all-important reach and revenue ahead of a renewal decision, per THR:
The six-episode series, starring David Duchovny as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as fellow FBI special agent Dana Scully, is set to debut on CTV on Jan. 24, 2016, simultaneous with the return to Fox stateside, it was announced Tuesday.
Chris Carter’s revival will then head to CraveTV, Bell Media’s online streamer, for catch-up viewing in spring 2016. Bell Media acquired the event series from 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.
