A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season.
The network today announced the two-season renewal of Bates Motel, but has decided not to move forward with a 2nd season of the supernatural mystery drama based on the original French series, Les Revenants.

This is so unfair! I loved this show. It was so much better than a lot of other shows on right now. Now there’s just a bunch of unanswered questions with the way it ended. I guess we’ll never know.:(

i really loved this show….I am so disappointed.. The acting was good and the story was really compelling…someone should snap this series up….are you listening Netfix? Save this one

I was so excited to see this in English on A&E. I found it on Sundance or IFC in french with subtitles I was hooked. Now as usual A&E drops a good show. Its getting to the point of why we even bother with them.You get hooked they cancel.

I watched the first two episodes… they rewrote it based on a UK show… but they kept that same, slow, drab UK pacing…. that’s why UK drama shows don’t do well in the US – they, generally move way way too slow. They should have ramped up the pacing a bit. The first episode was intriguing (but slow) when the second episode turned into a “relationship” drama with the same sleep-inducing pace I was less hopeful. When I started watching episode 3 and it was the same drawn out, slow moving, relationship drama.. well I gave up half way through and never looked back. If I wanted to watch soap operas I’d set the DVR to record them during the day. Well called A&E, this show sucked.

Wow, this was a good show. Wow A & E, including Bates Motel, The Returned is\was the best thing that ever happened to you. Oh, wait a minute, you mean to tell me that you have renewed that piece of trash Duck Dynasty but not The Returned; how do such morons get to run a network?

when I was a bit younger ,each new season brought about 2 dozen new tv shows they tried out on us,NOT 110 or more as there are are now days.. and a new season meant through the and fall winter months and then re-runs all summer…now days ,every friggin’ month is a new season for what seems like a dozen tv shows or more..some how,some way,i figure this part of the problem when it comes down to cancelations..too many projects at once in a testing period..some of these writers should stick to one project per season like in the older days.thank goodness shows like the blacklist,the following, once upon a time and the last man on earth are still around..imapstor was one I wasn’t sure i’d like but I really enjoy it ,as well the grinder..and I read that “when calls the heart” is coming back in Feb 2016..and i’m glad to read bates motel is coming abck but I will truly miss The Returned.. I really was into it..and I was glad to see “Red” (Eric’s Father from “That 80’s Show” as part of the cast).

disappointing that you all sit with your surveys and determine which shows to cancel, why do we even bother watching you network. To get invested in a show and you cancel and worse without closure. So sad.

I agree with all the comments expressing disappointment. I liked the show as well and I’m frustrated with the number TV shows I watch that are cancelled. At this rate it won’t be worth watching TV anymore. Pull out a book and let your imagination take you away.

i really wish this show wasn’t canceled i fell in love with series please lets bring it back i have to know if simon saves the town or not and the french isn’t as good as the american in my opinion please give it back to us!!!!!
