CBS has officially cancelled The Good Wife after seven seasons, but the series may yet live on by way of a spinoff, with co-creator Michelle King admitting “there’s been talk,” adding, per TVLine:
“At this point, nothing’s off the table. Sure, maybe, we’re not saying no to anything.”
Co-creator Robert King added more insight into the direction of the possible spinoff:
“What would be fun is to find a way to spin off a [cast member] that wasn’t at the center, who we wish we had more time with. The show always centered around the Alicia character. What’s appealing would be pursuing a different ensemble.”
Michelle King says nothing formal re: spinoff but they're open to anything. Robert King would want to spinoff people who weren't centerstage

Robert King: I like seasons that end with resonance: Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under – happy & sad at the same time.

Robert King on big themes as #TheGoodWife ends: we want the theme at the end to have you reevaluating seasons that came before.

Robert King: This is not a show that's ending because anybody hates each other. It's ending because it should be ending. #TheGoodWife
