The Curse of Oak Island Season 3 premiered November 10, 2015
Series Description: Rick and Marty Lagina work to fulfill a life-long dream as they embark on the most exciting chapter ever of the now 220-year-old Oak Island mystery.
After making major discoveries in borehole 10-X and the infamous Money Pit last year, the brothers and their partners will use today’s most advanced technology, as well as heavy digging and drilling equipment to go deep inside the island. They welcome new researchers and special guests, forge new alliances and explore new, intriguing theories. Nothing will stop them from finding out what could be buried on Oak Island, who concealed it there and where “X” marks the spot.
This year also holds several extraordinary milestones for the Oak Island team. It’s been 50 years since an article about the Money Pit appeared in Reader’s Digest, which not only sparked the imaginations of the young Lagina brothers, but also compelled Dan Blankenship to devote his life to solving this great mystery. It is also the 50th anniversary of the Restall tragedy, which claimed four of the six lives lost in search of the Oak Island treasure.

I hope that the network will renew the show. It is interesting and I enjoy watching each episode. I hope they find the treasure if it is there. A lot of time and money has been spent to find the treasure and I sure would like to see it myself.

For the sake of sanity, please cancel this nonsens. They never find anything, they use fake treasure hunters like puhlitzer who have no credibility whatsoever. This entire season in 8 episodes they have not found a thing and they are wasting every ones time. Two episodes ago the entire episode was about making friends with their neighbor and they tried their best to make this show sappy and sentimental it was painful to watch to say the least. The last episode they found a triangle underground come on you have to be joking if you renew this joke of a show.

Love this show! My husband and I watch it every week. Since it has been over 200 years since the first search, it proves that Rick, Marty and group shouldn’t give up their dreams. Keep on going guys and make sure the series continues for the rest of us to enjoy. The treasure is there!

Nothing was said to be pop bang and easy, there ya go treasure to be found instantly, Everything does take time. it wouldn’t be much of a show and season if they just cut to the chase and found it. Making all the other Treasure hunters for over 200 years look like armatures. Also prove me wrong if you call people fake. Interesting idea…..if it’s a body. Personally i don’t like buying into the superstitious nature of things like do 7 really have to die or is that myth just created as the years went on but there is definitely something down there….at least there used to be. No one would go to such lengths to create such an elaborate scheme of puzzling traps without trying to protect something of extreme value. Without being able to drain 10X, or send a man down without the water(too cloudy otherwise), or do a true excavation, or let alone bring anything back to the surface without risk of damage……well, good luck! I think we’ll continue to have more mysteries and small confusing artifacts than answers…..yet having said that, I hope they continue the series. It’s entertaining…..not exactly educational but it still beats half the crap on TV these days.

I have completely enjoyed this program, such a wonderful adventure. The mystery and suspense has had me on the edge of my seat. I have learned many amazing historical events and people that I would never forget.
For every time Rick and Marty’s team had a new plan to discover new ground , holes or opportunity to discover treasure, I promise I was right by there side wanting them to succeed.

So far the Island has possibly been visited by Columbus,The Incas, The Templars, The Portugese etc. and now a sword supposedly from the Roman Empire found in the water off the Island you cannot get a really good look at the sword but it sure looks dull no point on the end it has been broken and repaired. Shakespeare’s lost books and the Ark of the Covenant? With all this going on you would think they would have found something. If it is renewed fine if not so what?

Silly. Who cares if it’s a roman sword? Does that change where you dig a hole?
Already sent a camera sub down the hole .. Can’t see anything, so who cares if u send a guy down there, to also not be able to see.
Every episode seems to be another wild Investigation of some story that, true or false, doesn’t affect where u need to dig a hole.
A triangle under water pointing to a triangle on the ground that they already knew pointed to a hole … Was it man made? Was it nature? Who cares!?!? Dig the hole or don’t!!! Oh wait … We need to bury a time capsule and analyze some coconut fiber to see if that is why there is water in the hole .. That they can’t see in … Because if it is … Nothing changes.. If it is not … Nothing changes ..
Now Laverne has another theory about the triangle and a hole 14 degrees north .. They will spend the next 3 episodes researching everything associated with Laverne’s theory .. Instead of just digging a hole .. An excavator could have it done in 30 minutes … The gold rush guys could have the whole island dug up before the first commercial .. Where’s Parker when u need him. 🙂

This show has become nothing but a story of chasing butterflies and moonbeams. At least if they were chasing rabbits they might chase one down a hole that turned out to be the secret entrance to the chambers they are seeking. Every angle they pursue has nothing to do with finding what is possibly down there.
And the theories they have come up with related to ancient treasures of the Hebrews’ second temple – that is absolutely crazy. All the treasures came from the New World back to Europe – not the other way around.
I have been an enthusiast for this since I was a teenager over fifty years ago when the original Reader’s Digest article came out. This long, drawn-out, do nothing series has dulled even my enthusiasm for it. I give it one more week for them to find something noteworthy in 10-X before you can count me out. I have seen enough handshaking, introductions and stupid jokes to last a lifetime.

Reminds me of the hidden treasure in Al Cappone’s safe Geraldo Rivera was after. What did he find besides dust balls on national tv? These guys are grasping at straws digging up a couple of coins, nuts and bolts. They entertain other treasure hunting nuts with far fetched ideas which distract viewers, so I say cancel this crap. Maybe they will have better luck finding Jimmy Hoffa.

A whole hour with not much happening… let lone all the commercial breaks…. left me falling asleep, yawn.
It’s gotten pretty boring and I’ve turned the channel. I realize exploring takes time and $$$ but wonder if anything will actually be discovered. If things get interesting, I’ll come back.

I have to put in my 2 cents…I love the show, it makes you want more and that is what a show of any kind is supposed to do. I have hopes of seeing the elusive treasure, and I too have moments of “really!!!”, but that is what treasure hunting is about, following all the leads no matter how crazy they may sound.
Like any good treasure hunter you don’t dismiss anything that may show promise or lead you to the next clue that you hope to God lands you that treasure you all worked so hard to find.
I’m looking forward to the next show…at least it doesn’t involve ghosts in the dark you never see…there’s a good way to waste an hour of TV or watching a bunch of idiots running around trying to find big foot, or watching spoiled, rich celebrities wasting everybody’s time ( I don’t see how that’s entertaining )?!

We’re not talking about a chest buried ten feet down on some lowly island off of NS here. The ingenuity to dig the flood tunnels, prevent them from blocking with eel grass and coconut husks so far underground must have taken a huge amount of time, men and effort so it bodes well that something of extreme value is present. Today’s technology, the team’s experience and drive, combined with History Channel’s faith and help surely has to prevail. As the old saying goes: Patience is a Virtue.

Me and my family have all been interested in this programme and would certainly like to see it to the end whether they find something or not. We want to see them get to the tunnels and find whatever’s down there. Someone has taken a great deal to hide something and set booby traps to make it difficult to find. So please don’t cancel the series. 95% of us want it to continue so I say continue. The 5% don’t have to watch the show but we want it back and I hope the brothers and other guys find something to make us all happy. Finally you are back to some History on the History Channel. Jack and Ozzy visiting historic sites and telling the history of our country is great. I love the show and would not miss it for anything. It’s like being on vacation with my family. Ozzy being my crazy uncle, not wanting to do stuff but going along and doing it anyway and finding out it was a good time. Please Please Please don’t cancel this show. You have gone to so much crappy stuff that just isn’t worth watching, reality tv, that you have lost the basis for history channel. In this life of so much havoc and issues, this is one show that teaches us history, allows us to imagine what might be on the Island and just plain makes us happy. Like I said during today’s show, “I feel so close to this group that I would love to invite them to a Thanksgiving dinner as they are such a nice group of people. We never know what new things or what new bits of history this group will find for the next show. Many of us dream of going out in the woods to see what we can find, but Oak Island has the true treasures…no matter what they fine there, the treasures are the hopes and dreams of all these wonderful people that work so hard to solve the mystery of the island. Please let them keep searching.
