The Bridge Season 3 had to be re-written in order to survive following Kim Bodnia‘s exit, Digital Spy reports.
Creator Hans Rosenfeldt again insisted that it was Bodnia’s choice to depart.
In fact, his abrupt decision forced the writers of The Bridge to scrap planned storylines – and four scripts – intended for the third series.
“The plot is the same, the crime story is the same,” said Rosenfeldt. “Martin’s part in the investigation and his personal strand – that was what we had to rewrite.
“It forced us to think, what is The Bridge without Martin? What is the DNA ofThe Bridge if he’s not in it? It actually brought more energy to it, because we had to think outside the box. It was kind of a blessing in disguise.”
The Bridge has yet to be cancelled or renewed for Season 4. Watch this space…
