With suggestions that The Big Bang Theory could end after Season 10, the CBS sitcom faces more uncertainty with news that it is being sued, Deadline reports:
A lawsuit over the rights to a lullaby sung on The Big Bang Theory is challenging the ownership of “Soft Kitty,” which has been sung several times on the show whenever Sheldon needs comforting. The song was so popular that CBS built a marketing campaign around it, featuring Soft Kitty t-shirts, plush toys, key chains, coffee mugs and hoodies.
Lyrics for the song “Warm Kitty” were written in 1937 by the late-poet Edith Newlin, and now her daughters, Margaret Perry and Ellen Chase, are saying that CBS has to pay up. In their suit, filed today in federal court in Manhattan, they say that “The Soft Kitty lyrics have played a prominent role in the development and portrayal of one of the central characters in the program.”

this is such a stupid reason to cancel an excellent show. settle w/the ‘kitty’ people and put the show back on. one of the few shows that make me laugh (and mike and molly…on it’s last season). no more worthwhile comedies on tv. such trash. mom, two broke girls, the driver, grandfathered! someone please be creative here. I can’t believe all the stupidity surrounding this!!!!!

I agree. Once Big Bang Theory and Mike and Molly are gone, there will be no funny comedy shows left.

I don’t care about the silly song. It does not add much to the show if you ask me. Please keep the show going. I love it.
