EXCLUSIVE: Syfy has cancelled Superstition after one season, sources inform RenewCancelTV.
According to insiders, the low-rated drama will not return for Season 2.
About Superstition:
Superstition follows the Hastings, a family who’s owned the only funeral home and graveyard in the town of La Rochelle for as long as anyone can recall. In addition to providing services for all faiths, the family specialty is handling “afterlife care” for the unexplained deaths of folks at the hands of demonic entities, and other unworldly phenomena that have long haunted the town. The Hastings uses arcane weaponry, incredible strength, mystical alchemy skills, and a deep knowledge of the occult and ancient lore from around the world to quell the evil within the shadows of the town.
RIP.

I say I’m surprised, even in the trailers it looks silly, like one SYFY’s cheap movies of the week! They should have kept Dark Matter instead of putting this stupid show on!

I meant I’m not surprised, you need an edit button here!

Everyone has their opinion…
I thought it was a great show, too bad it got cancelled, and I believe the ratings mainly depend on the time – how working person can watch all these late night slots, when there is a streaming anytime option?
Jason says
Late night slots?? The show aired at 9PM EST–hahaha. Most adults need 7 hours of sleep. Even if you went to bed at 10PM, you would get 7 hours of sleep and wake up at 5AM.

I think had they given it some time, and possibly a few new writer, the show may have had the staying power of Supernatural. Now we will never know.
Brent says
Sorry, writers.

Actually, I really enjoyed the series; I’ve always liked Mario van Peebles, ever since I began watching him play “Sonny Spoon” while I was in Medical School back in the 1980’s….Something about the manner in which he projects himself….I just found him enjoyable to watch. As far as this series goes, I also enjoyed it. Was it a bit far-fetched? Yes. Was it broadcast at an unfavorable time as Vilma suggested? Perhaps. But Science Fiction is meant to be “Far Fetched,” and I, as Vilma also suggested, only watch programs I can stream myself…..at times, and in places that are convenient for me. I also think that Sy-Fy should have kept DARK MATTER….that show in my opinion was one of the better shows on ANY channel.

I think Mario van Peebles is and was a good actor. I was excited about this show, but, wow was it boring. And I am a fan of these shows: Supernatural, Buffy, Angel, and Midnight, Texas. But I just could not “get into” this show. Too bad, it had great potential. The writing did not live up to the premise.
Poops ! says
I was torn with this show, some of it serious, some silly – it even went full on cheap at times – yet I still watched.
Sad to see yet another bite the dust.
