See you on the other side, Stranger Things? The hit Netflix mystery drama returns for Part II this fall, but the end is already on the (somewhat distant) horizon.
While the future is open to change, creators Ross and Matt Duffer are currently eyeing a four or five season run with a “finite ending” to wrap the series, as revealed to EW’s Tim Stack.
Says Matt Duffer:
“I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”
Ross Duffer adds:
“Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see. Hopefully you’ll come to the end of season 2 and feel fully satisfied and want more but you’ll feel like it has come to a conclusion. But also we’ve laid the ground work for further seasons.”
Will Stranger Things survive for Season 3? Will the Netflix renewal gods grant the coveted four or five seasons to complete the story in 2019/20? Or will Stranger Things be one of the cancellation reaper’s biggest captures of 2017/18? Stay tuned…
