Sleepy Hollow Season 3 has been plunged into doubt following a showrunner departure.
Mark Goffman has left the supernatural drama after serving as writer/showrunner on the highly-praised first season and heavily-lamented second, where ratings dropped some 40%.
Fox recently expressed “hope” that Sleepy Hollow would be renewed for Season 3, with a view to ‘rebooting’ the show towards a less serialized path (despite its problems appearing to lie in the storytelling decisions).
However, while Goffman’s departure leaves the show in uncertain territory, Fox is pursuing a new head to run the show for a potential third season.
As such, renewal remains possible, providing Fox get their man or woman.
Stay tuned as we continue to bear witness to Sleepy‘s grapple with the cancellation trapdoor…
