Silent Witness Series 21? The BBC crime drama is celebrating its 20th anniversary, but star Emilia Fox believes there’s ‘obviously’ room for the long-running crime drama in the broadcaster’s future, per Digital Spy:
“I think there has to be room for both new shows and returning favourites [on the BBC], doesn’t there? It seems obvious to me – if people are enjoying the returning series, then you want to bring them back again – but equally you want to be giving them new drama, as well.
“I think it’s common sense, and it’s achievable, to do both – and I’m very glad, and grateful, that the BBC have seen fit to keep Silent Witness. I just hope the audience continues to enjoy it.”
For her part, Fox believes Silent Witness continues to remain fresh and feels “enthusiastic and passionate” about the series moving forward:
I never feel like I know everything about the show or the characters, because new things come up all the time. I’ve certainly been massively challenged by the last story in this series and have done things that I’ve never ever done before on Silent Witness, or any other show!
I feel as enthusiastic and passionate about it as I have always done. If I didn’t feel that, then I wouldn’t continue, but so far I always have and now I feel really proud of it, that it’s reached 20 years.”
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the renew/cancel status of Silent Witness Series 21…
