The fixer is no longer needed.
Ray Donovan has been cancelled by the premium cable company. The season and series finale aired January 19.
The news should not come as a surprise to those following along as showtime President Gary Levine hinted at the TCA’s last month that the show was reaching its end of life.
The network had the following to say about the cancellation:
“After seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded its run on Showtime. We are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note. Our deepest thanks go to Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight, showrunner David Hollander and the entire cast and crew, past and present, for their dedicated work.”

Hulu should pick the series up. It’s terrible how Showtime just killed RD. One of the better binge worthy series bites the dust. A COLOSSAL mistake by Showtime. RD was the reason I stayed with Showtime as a premium channel. VERY SAD !!!

Ray Donovan is a great series. I think canceling it is very premature. Send the series back to California and it could run another 5-8 years. Don’t just cancel it because it comes to a time milestone. This series does not fall into that category. ReThink and start writing.

This is terrible news. I watch this show all the time. I have watched it from the very beginning and is one of my favorite shows. I wish another channel would pick it up. I love all the characters and hope they can do something to help get this series find another home.

It’s a pity that RD didn’t at least have one last year to finalize the series. This was one of the better shows on TV and to have it yanked off the way it was is simply outrageous!

It’s such a great show and to end it that way was not right. Showtime is dead to me!
