Encouraging news for freshman series Forever, Selfie and Manhattan Love Story after ABC ordered three additional scripts each, on the heels of handing out full season orders to How To Get Away With Murder and Black-ish.
Commissioning extra scripts keeps writers working on the shows, affording the network decision-makers an extra few weeks to evaluate the series’ performance before having to make a decision on a full-season order.
In short, Forever, Selfie and MLS haven’t yet done enough to earn full seasons, but have another few weeks to prove their worth and stay in the hunt for that all-important Season 2 renewal.
