WGN America has cancelled Salem after three seasons, to conclude January 18, 2017. The cabler has opted not to move forward with Season 4, RenewCancelTV has learned.
Matt Cherniss, WGN America president, said of the decision to axe Salem:
“Salem is a fantastic show that greatly contributed to our successful launch into original programming. We thank Brannon, Adam our talented cast and our partners at Fox 21, for entrusting us with their unique and remarkable vision for the world of Salem. We also thank the fans for their loyal support of the show.”
Added exec producers creators Brannon Braga and Adam Simon:
“We knew this would be the third and final season and were able to craft an exciting climax to Mary’s transformational saga.
We are grateful to WGN America and Fox 21 for being terrific partners and giving us free reign to create a satisfying conclusion—one we believe respects our love of storytelling and the show’s passionate fan. It was a magical experience to create Salem and we want to thank every producer, writer, director, actor and crew member, for all they have done to help us bring the world of Salem to life.”

Why does everyone keep canceling the good shows??? But yet we will keep crap like Bachelor crap, Kardashian crap, and all the damn American housewives’, is beyond me. As a viewer of today’s TV shows, I feel left down and out.

I agree with you Sharon Yahn about the Housewives and Kardashian crap but, I have to admit I love the Bachelor. I will admit that I intentionally missed a couple of seasons though.
I am so disheartened like everyone else about Salem. I love all the characters, costumes and most importantly the storytelling! I will miss this show greatly!

The costumes, set were truly excellent and the cast was very good, but the dark content with the dark energies went off the rails. It got really evil each year. I quit watching mid 2nd season. It was just way too demonic.
