Netflix has ordered Riverdale companion series Sabrina with an instant Season 2 renewal.
The two-season order comprises 20 episodes. The first season of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch series is slated to stream in 2018, followed by Season 2 in 2019.
Sabrina moves to the streaming company from The CW, which cancelled the project.
Sabrina remagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature – half-witch, half-mortal – while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
Sabrina is coming to Netflix and she might just out-brood Jughead. Don't @ me about talking cats (yet)

The move to Netflix, where Riverdale performs well under a lucrative streaming deal, makes sense for Sabrina and keeps the series safe from the cancellation reaper until 2019 at least.
