Jane isn’t the only one with a new experience in her future. “The entire episode is one big life-changing thing after another, right down to the last moment,” teases Nash. But fans should be assured that the finale is “not a cliffhanger. It ends with laughter and tears and with a sense that it’s an end.”

“The finale is going to be sad,” promised Alexander, who has played Maura Isles, the brilliant medical examiner partnered with Harmon’s character, the Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli. “It’s going to be emotional yet hopeful. And positive in many ways, because all the families and the friendships sort of come to a nice little end.”

Rizzoli & Isles might not end on a cliffhanger, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t ‘more stories to tell‘. Could the procedural one day resurrect for Season 8 or a spinoff series, perhaps away from TNT? As always, stay tuned as we monitor the cancellation graveyard…

Rizzoli and Isles is our favorite show. That always happens…our favorite gets canceled!!
This one bothers me the most. No matter what we were doing, my husband and I sat on the couch and watched this together. Guess reruns will have to do.
We’ve been putting off watching the last episode because it is going to be so hard to watch.

I don’t understand why it is over. You ended it for a reunion. They are both going to Paris and could come back to the police station and start over together. Isles is only gone for 4 months.
