Showtime has apparently cancelled Ray Donovan with the upcoming fifth season to be its last, according to actress Ashley Nicole Murray, who posted the following on her Instagram page:
“One of the best sets I’ve been honored to be a part of and so sad it’s the last season.”

UPDATE: Showtime has confirmed that Ray Donovan has not been cancelled.
UPDATE: Showtime has indeed renewed Ray Donovan for Season 6.

Wow!!! Probably not a lot of comments, because no one would expect such a great show to be cancelled:( Are the networks being hacked, or tampered with as far as ratings??? Because I am seeing series being cancelled that I know for fact that us normal people who just enjoy watching TV!!! Aren’t really being accounted for:( For example Constantine cancelled. River monsters cancelled. Grimm cancelled. Hannibal cancelled. And many more:( I think that that networks should really investigate The ratings statistics. Since technology this is a doggie dog world more than ever!!! And if people are actually taking the time to write comments on how upset they are:( Even if only 2. Reality is that you are carving your own tombstone:(

They need to change the entire system! If they are still using Nielsen ratings they need to come into the 21st century. They also need to change the ages they survey! As a Boomer, ALL of my favorite shows are being cancelled. I guess we don’t matter any more as far as ratings go! All the crap and reality shows and bs they keep on is outrageous! There is nothing like watching a great series we a wonderful story line and Ray Donovan is one of them! SHAME ON THOSE WHO MAKE THESE AWFUL DECISIONS!!

Ya know.. it could just be the “last season” for Avossi — based on the information here.. there’s no way to tell the SHOW is over, only that Avossi won’t be part of future seasons. Lots of leaps and bounds taking place here.

Wow! At least the Networks could give the fans a sense of some closure; rating are misleading, sometimes fans like me don’t have Showtime but still follow it, mind you a year late, by buying the series on DVD. Hope it gets revived…

Ray Donovan is a tremendous show. I hate to see it go. I noticed it says no season 6, which means one more season at least for them to wrap things up. If I’m not mistaken there have only been 4 seasons so far.

I think it’s a good decision to end with season 5. I mean how much more can that family really go through? They have been through so much, it’s time for things to come to an end. It was such an amazing series, & I too really hate to see it come to an end, but it’s time. Thanks Showtime for giving us Ray Donovan!

I am sad to hear that. With the son/dad relationship evolving into something very interesting, the show had a chance to veer into an entirely different direction while still maintaining the essence of the show. Very sad to read.
