Channel 4 Summons A Second Series Of The Question Jury From Monkey
Channel 4 has commissioned a second 20 x 60’series of daytime reality-quiz hybrid, The Question Jury from Monkey, which gives contestants the chance to win up to £10,000 each day. The second series will air daily over four weeks and will premiere early next year.
The Question Jury sees seven strangers locked in a jury room, where they must work together to answer questions correctly and build up their prize fund, with only each other’s knowledge and gut instincts to rely on. A different foreman of the jury will lead each of the question discussions before submitting a verdict. If the foreman can lead the group to a unanimous answer, they will bank the prize money. For the final question, they must decide who has earned the right to be the final foreman and play for the accumulated cash. If the nominated jury member gets the answer right, they could leave with up to £10,000 – but if they get it wrong, they leave empty handed and the rest of the jury will try again, with a new member joining them the following day.
The first series of The Question Jury aired on Channel 4 over the summer of 2016.
Will Macdonald, Creative Director at Monkey said: “The Question Jury is a quiz show unlike any other, mixing great play-along questions with the real-life drama of strangers locked in a room together for a week. As the first series showed, the loudest voice isn’t always right and the judgements they make about each other can be as severe as they are fascinating to watch. We’re thrilled that it’s coming back for a second series, and can’t wait to see how the new juries acquit themselves.”Syeda Irtizaali, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment at Channel 4 added: “I love watching this show and I love the reaction it gets from viewers whether they love or hate the contestants. I am delighted to bring it back and look forward to working with Monkey on a truly unique quiz.”
The Question Jury is executive produced by Will Macdonald and Ollie Brack for Monkey. It was commissioned by Channel 4’s Entertainment Commissioning Editor, Syeda Irtizaali. The format is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal International Formats and will be launched at the upcoming MIPCOM conference in Cannes.
