Last ditch Pitch? Fox boss Gary Newman is “open” to replaying the first season of the likely cancelled Baseball series on the MLB Network to help force a late Season 2 renewal, per TVLine:
“I don’t believe there have been discussions about that. My recollection is we replayed the pilot, maybe on Fox Sports, but I don’t believe it was ever pitched to us to have the show on Major League Baseball [Network].
“We certainly would be open to it, but I can’t guarantee it. We have rights holders and profit participants and we always want to do what’s in the interest of them, but I think [MLB Network] is the perfect place to expose the show to the audience. I will look into that.”
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor the cancellation status of Pitch Season 2…
Linda Dunbar says
Pitch was an intelligent, insightful adult drama whose writers continued to develop the complex characters of the show. Personally I thought the story line was fresh and felt the program evolved weekly with new twists and turns that kept me “wanting more.” I am truly disappointed that Fox did not opt to extend the series. I hope you reconsider and tout the uniqueness of Pitch from the perspective of the female athlete and the intelligent dialogue that naturally ensued. If season one were re-played and properly marketed, I think Fox would have a “hit” on this Ms.(miss)
