Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes (Comprising Season 9) Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

there is so much on television that shows the absolute worst of the human race. hate, killing, stupidity, force fed commercials, and on and on. then a program that doesn’t involve money, avarice, fighting,… only a restoration of the best of the past, a wonderful sense of accomplishment and giving to someone with no notoriety, a common man or woman. this program gives me the same kind of warm, wonderful feeling as seeing animals saved, and other examples of the best and highest examples of the accomplishments of the human race. there are precious few of these examples around. I can only hope another channel will agree with me and , I’m sure many others, and pick up this worthwhile program and continue it’s legacy. thank you

You’ve got to be kidding me. This is a clean and wonderful show. This I’d the only reason I watch Velocity. The o the r Velocity shows are fell of vulgar language, used by low life people who only care about cars and themselves.
Please review your priorities and give us back Overhaulin’.

Chip goose is a master at what he does, Chris Jacobs and the rest of the crew are miracle workers on how these cars come out. Velocity should cancel some of the other stupid shows they have on, but not this one. Thanks chip for such a great show!!

It’s clear that the opinions of viewers and Overhaulin’s wildly successful series doesn’t mean squat to the crazy, and I mean insane, people who run networks. If it were a matter of attracting more or different advertisers, I could understand the decision. However, every show presented by the Discovery network has exactly the same commercial format: one “real” advertiser, followed by two or three pimping spots of Discovery/Velocity network shows.
The logical conclusion is that Overhaulin’ became too successful and, therefore, too expensive. And we know what Modern Business thinks: God is Greed; Cost is Satan.

I’m really going to miss the OVERHAULIN. I watched it every chance I could. As I was watching today I was curious why I had never seen an African American family jumping for joy as they received their prized possessions. As an African American I watch Velocity everyday and have learned a lot which has helped me on the restoration of my 84 Chevy Silverado truck and my next project a 67 Chevy II nova. I hope it does return but I still would like to see Africans Americans as a part of your Velocity restorations.
