It appears the contractual event was much a do about nothing in the end!
Per sources, NBC has renewed Days Of Our Lives for season 56.
The soap opera will return to production in January 2020 after the normal year end production break.

I’m glad I guess, they NEED some major story line changes, updates and quit jumping a year ahead in the story line. And now, we have to hear what happened during the past year, this is going backwards people. Hope the hiatus helps the writers get back to writing decent scripts.
