There have been a lot of rumors that Nashville star Connie Britton would be departing the country music drama, now in its fifth season and first on CMT. Speculation about Britton’s impending exit intensified in recent weeks as word spread that the Emmy-nominated actress would be available for pilots this season. She has emerged as one of the most sought-after female leads, and already has been the subject of a lot of incoming interest from the broadcast networks.
The network and producer Lionsgate TV are not commenting when or how Britton’s storyline would wrap. The Season 5 midseason finale of Nashville airs on March 23.

Oh come on. Things were just getting interesting again. But hell I guess I have enough tv to watch if you guys just can’t commit to this show.
Deb says
I sure hope Nashville Doesn t get cancelled again. The family enjoys watching and looks forward to it every week.

They ruined this show with their diversity. I am no longer watching nor are several viewers who used to watch. Connie Britton wants to leave, let her go. She’s no big deal anymore. I hope they cancel it. They ruined it.
April LaCount says
Why would you want to get rid of Connie Britton now that its on the rise up? I believe if she leaves it will soon cancel. Thats crazy. Just when they are on the high side. So sad.
Don Jay Gurian says
Used to be a great show, but like most, it has overstayed it’s welcome. Turned into a pure soap with music. Why can’t they let these shows die a natural death instead of squeezing every last dollar from them???

I’ve always loved this show but feel now I’m watching nothing but videos, which is not why I love the show. It’s the stories . If Connie, from where all stories spring from, leaves, the show will not be the same. Why leave the show for something new, change this show, make it even better. But, if she wants to go, go. It’s just a shame you leave the rest of the ensemble high and dry. That being said, for just that reason, I won’t watch your new one, loyalty and all that….
Peggy says
So what if she wants to leave? The show is fine without her. I would love to see a sexy Deacon ind a younger wife anyway. Connie was good on FNL’s. I don’t think we would miss her that much anyway.
