Agreed, this show was good fun. It wasn’t deep or meaningful or artistically brilliant. It made no statements was not socially relevant it was simply good fun. I am from the UK, I gather most people on this site are from the U.S. I don’t know if our taste in on-screen entertainment is completely incompatible (we enjoy the same movies so I cant see why that should be?) or what, but its your tv execs who make the hard decisions on the majority of programmes both countries. I can only speak for the British viewing public but whoever these tv executives are they seem way out of wack? Cancelling StarGate Universe was upsetting for me, although that may be personal preference on my part. But what about Constantine? Cancelling that was a dreadful decision. Forever was one of the best tv shows I had seen in years and now this. The Mysteries of Laura was funny but it wasn’t just a comedy it was also a drama and really a good quality one. The detective with two kids and an ex husband who was not only her superior at work but was also very good looking and not a bad guy deep down. A realistic down to earth scenario which mirrors real life. How many people marry co-workers? How many people marry co-workers have problems with their relationship yet still have to work together every day? A real life situation with the potential for great comedy. Add in great drama and whats not too like? Yee Haa

I don’t know how the decisions r made as to what NBC shows ar cancelled but Game of Silence and Heartbeat should not have been cancelled. They r both great shows. As to the cancellation of the Mysteries of Laura, the ending of the last episode was the one we were waiting for. U really should ask the opinion of the people watching!

I agree. NBC takes off the adult shows and the tendency. To more reality shows is absurd, in my opinion. I would rather watch a show where you need to use your brain and not substitute more ridiculous reality shows.
        shows. Just sayin.

I think I’m gonna just Redbox and netflix. Every time I get interested in regular tv, it gets cancelled. They have axed a lot of good shows this year, Mike & Molly, POI, Grandfathered, Rizzoli & Isles.etc. Sad

I can promise you that I will NOT be watching anymore new shows next year . I’m tired of getting into a great show with wonderful people and having it yanked away from me . You could have at least given Mysteries of Laura another half season to finish off the series with a proper ending . It’s no wonder more people are cutting the cord and watching Hulu , Netflix and Amazon Prime at least with them you have a better idea of what your getting. Good luck getting people to watch any new shows in the future , not wasting my time on NBC anymore.

I feel like my heart has been thrown onto the floor and squashed under someone’s shoe, thanks to all the cancellation announcements this year. I’ve started worrying about getting too attached to a show, because it seems every time I do, it gets cancelled.

At least finish off the love stories in The Mysteries of Laura and Grandfathered. I think viewers deserve an ending when a show is axed (a good ending though, not an ending like Lost). It doesn’t even have to be on television. Surely most people would rather watch an ending on the internet, than not at all. It’s not fair to leave people hanging. We deserve better than that. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Not Happy! I agree completely. Most shows that get cancelled have some following. It seems lately that a lot of shows getting cancelled have mass followings of committed fans. These viewers deserve closure. When the decisino to cancel a show is made the cast etc must still be under contract. Surely a two or three episode run to tie up loose ends and give the series some climax or finale could be made. As you say it could even be broadcast on the internet or accessed there. I would imagine it would make the series more lucrative for re-runs on other chanels and cable etc. Whatever it would give the viewer and fans somewhere to draw the line and not leave them wondering how it may have turned out. Closure of sorts. As it stands I used to be a buyer of dvd and digital copies of series that I liked, I must have over a hundred dvd boxsets (all 10 seasons of StarGate!) and many more on digital. What I have begun to do is NEVER watch or buy a series until it has run, or not, for a few seasons. This way I don’t spend £30 odd on each season of a series and then have it cancelled £60 in, sorry, a couple of seasons in! It has also worked out considerably cheaper as by the time I decide they look like there is enough to make a meaningful storyline the first two seasons cost hardly anything or have found there way on to Amazon Priime! If we all did this I wonder how long they would last before realsing that the customer, the viewer wants an ending with an explanation of loose ends and not just a brick wall just ass it was getting good. Yee Haa

    NBC i think it means
Naivete This is a lack of wisdom and sophistication.
Baleful Baleful means the foreshadowing of tragic or evil
    Caustic capable of destroying

When ever a good show starts or in fact any series they show it one an cancel I think the person who is responsible for all this cancellations has one hand down their pants and enjoying it.
